Priscilla Yung Medeiros
Dr. Priscilla Medeiros’ expertise includes calculation of damages from infringement of intellectual property rights, breaches of competition, mergers investigation, and valuation of intellectual property.
Dr. Priscilla Medeiros is an associate director in BRG’s London office. She has over ten years of experience as an economist supporting clients and experts in the economic consulting industry. Dr. Medeiros’ casework covers a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on retail and consumer, as well as technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT).
Dr. Medeiros is an expert in applying economic theory and robust data analysis to assess the nature of competition in the markets, including the impact of potential mergers, and to value intangible assets and perform financial analysis as part of damages estimation for copyright infringement matters.
More specifically, Dr. Medeiros has consulted on complex litigation engagements involving breach of contract, alleged infringement of patents (including standard essential patents (SEPs)), trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights. Dr. Medeiros has also consulted on valuation of patents and companies.
Dr. Medeiros has consulted on many matters involving the assessment of dominance abuse, exclusionary conduct, tying and bundling, mergers, and class certification analysis.
Dr. Medeiros holds a PhD in economics from Kellogg School of Economics and has an extensive list of publications related to consumer behavior, SEPs, and competitive effects. She worked as an associate professor in Brazil, teaching statistics and consumer behavior classes at the master level, and has presented her research in academic conferences around the world.
