Michael Sullivan

Mike Sullivan co-leads the Healthcare Transactions & Strategy (HTS) practice and advises both private equity and corporate clients on areas of regulatory and reimbursement, market strategy and compliance.

With over twenty-five years of healthcare services experience in both consulting and operations, he specializes in consulting to private equity firms, other financial services organizations, and healthcare services companies. He has been involved in over one thousand client engagements across virtually all healthcare provider settings, healthcare payers as well as payer-and provider-outsourced services.

Mr. Sullivan primarily focuses on the buy-side of healthcare mergers and acquisitions, where he and his team advise broadly on areas of regulatory, reimbursement, and market risk. He actively maintains relationships with hundreds of private equity firms, professional services firms, and healthcare executives. This access to a broad network of healthcare experts and thought leaders support our client engagements and business development.

Prior to BRG, Mr. Sullivan had full responsibility for creating and directing the business development strategy with private equity firms at a healthcare-focused advisory and consulting firm based in New York and Washington. He established a niche in reimbursement consulting services for the portion of the private equity community focused on healthcare and was a market leader at the time.

In addition, Mr. Sullivan worked in healthcare consulting and in operations for both private and public companies in the post-acute and senior care market. He led three different senior housing communities from opening to profitability and successful sale. During this time, he also helped establish two limited license home care agencies in the state of New York. Mr. Sullivan also supported skilled nursing facilities in clinical, coding, and reimbursement compliance efforts as a consultant. Early in his career, he worked in community-based healthcare for LiveOn NY, a nonprofit for which he later served as a board member.
