Marcella Fantini
More than twenty years of experience in the energy sector, particularly in regulatory due diligence in the context of acquisition and financing of regulated gas and electricity assets and in regulation design in the natural gas and electricity industries.
Marcella Fantini is a managing director in BRG’s Rome office.
She has worked for a wide range of clients, including regulators, regulated companies, investors, and private energy firms. Ms. Fantini has assisted investment funds and merchant banks in regulatory due diligence procedures for the acquisition, sale and financing of gas-related assets and power plants, providing detailed analyses of the regulatory environment and potential upsides and risks arising from applicable regulation and its expected developments. She supported major gas pipelines during the design process for new tariff regulations and regulated gas infrastructures, renewable plants and potential lenders during the refinancing process.
Ms. Fantini has authored over twenty-five regulatory due diligence reports and has significant expertise in tariff review processes and in supporting clients in claims before sector regulators. She also has experience assessing the business plans of energy companies and incentives for renewable generation. She has assisted regulated companies in analyzing key issues in their regulatory strategy.
Before joining BRG, Ms Fantini worked in economic consulting and as a senior researcher for Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, an institute focusing on the economy, energy and the environment; and lectured in economics at the University of Bergamo.
