Kristen Geissler has over twenty-five years of experience in healthcare, both in direct patient care and administrative and consulting roles.
She has expertise in various quality-based reimbursement methodologies, including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Inpatient Quality Reporting and Value-Based Purchasing, and has a detailed understanding of providers’ auditing and submission requirements related to the various required and voluntary national quality reporting policies.
Ms. Geissler has assisted the Maryland Hospital Association, its members, the Health Services Cost Review Commission of Maryland, and 3M during the implementation of Maryland’s quality-based reimbursement policies related to clinical process measure, hospital acquired conditions, and preventable readmissions. She also has expertise in clinical documentation improvement and the role of coding and documentation in quality reporting.
Before her consulting career, Ms. Geissler was the director of Quality Improvement for a large urban health system, and she is also a licensed physical therapist.
