Korey Barrette is a director at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) and delivers cybersecurity capabilities to clients in the US and globally.
He brings over twenty years of experience managing, performing, and delivering information technology (IT) security solutions. His specialties include technology risk management, IT auditing, cybersecurity assessments, internal auditing, attack-and-penetration testing services, and security analysis across a variety of industries and sectors.
Mr. Barrette has vast experience within the information security and cybersecurity assessment space. He is currently working in blockchain and smart contracts to build out a security offering with the cybersecurity team. He brings experience in designing, assessing, and testing against security standards and frameworks including ISO 27001/2, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Center for Internet Security (CIS), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He also has knowledge of and background in client/server environments and databases, as well as application and hardware experience.
Mr. Barrette has provided PCI compliance management and related services, including PCI DSS assessments, for over six years. He also has thorough understanding of cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and certifications within the Amazon AWS cloud environment. With his strong background in client service, he works with both executive leadership and technical teams regarding corporate strategies and programs for information security and provides solutions to control and reduce risk.
