Jeff Stern has over thirty-five years of commercial bank lending experience across an array of industries, with a focus on consumer and retail and energy. He brings expertise in leveraged buyouts (LBOs), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and corporate divestitures.
Mr. Stern is a managing director in BRG’s Corporate Finance practice based in New York City. He is well versed and well equipped to partner with a wide range of constituents on matters related to refinancings, restructurings, and loan agreements. He has significant experience in negotiating and placing loans with private equity firms, private capital firms, and other investment firms in addition to public companies.
Mr. Stern joins BRG after retiring from JP Morgan’s Asset Based Lending (ABL) Group, where he was a managing director and regional manager and founded JP Morgan’s Southwest ABL practice. During his time at JP Morgan, Mr. Stern led financing for the likes of Office Depot, Dillard’s department stores, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Bass Pro Shops, Conn’s HomePlus, USA Compression, Archrock, and Kodiak Gas Services. Additionally, he has worked on many restructuring situations in consumer and retail, such as Circuit City, Sports Authority, Pier 1, Tailored Brands, Tuesday Morning, Forever 21, Ascena Retail Group, and Bed Bath & Beyond.
