James Farrell is a director in BRG’s Litigation, Forensics, and Dispute Resolution practice, as well as the firm’s Real Estate and Construction practices.

For over thirty years, Mr. Farrell has advised clients with complex economic, financial, accounting, business, litigation and valuation needs. His expertise includes financial and economic damage assessments, forensic accounting, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, specific performance, fraud, business valuations, breach of warranty, post-acquisition disputes, unjust enrichment, tortious interference, professional negligence, negligence, false claim violations, shareholder disputes, litigation arising out of bankruptcy, business disparagement, discrimination, age discrimination, harassment, retaliation, civil/criminal claims under RICO, bad faith, government claims, and expert witness testimony.

Mr. Farrell provides written and oral expert testimony for matters involving financial and economic damages and losses, loss of profits, cost savings and additional expenses, real estate and construction claims, destruction/diminution of good will and reputation, complex accounting analyses, business interruption claims, business valuations, financial investigations, misappropriation of assets before federal and state courts, arbitrations, and UNCITRAL, CAFTA, ICDR, ICC and the London Maritime Arbitrators Association tribunals.

Before joining BRG, Mr. Farrell was associated with Big Eight accounting and various international litigation firms. Later, he was the general manager of a real estate development company that owned and developed commercial, residential and industrial projects. He also was a member of the accounting management team at one of the nation’s largest shopping center owner/developers, where he became familiar with complex development, financing, leasing, and ownership agreements.
