Caroline Marley is a forensic accountant who focuses on audit negligence cases and investigations into fraud and misconduct.
Caroline Marley is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) with over seventeen years of experience as an accountant and over fourteen years of experience in forensic accounting, complex investigations and audit negligence disputes.
As a forensic accountant Ms. Marley has gained extensive experience performing and leading investigations, including in relation to regulatory matters, and providing expert witness support in complex audit negligence cases in both civil claims and regulatory investigations.
Ms. Marley has significant experience in writing expert reports, particularly in relation to audit negligence cases, where she has investigated allegations of negligence and assisted lawyers in putting forward claims of negligence.
Ms. Marley’s experience includes managing large teams and handling sensitive, confidential investigations into fraud and misconduct such as financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation and corruption. She is adept at uncovering accounting irregularities and fraudulent activities, collaborating closely with senior management to effectively manage the consequences.
Ms. Marley completed her ACA accountancy training while working in audit, gaining a deep understanding of business operations and the critical role that a robust finance function, supported by a strong culture and effective controls, plays in fraud prevention.
Ms. Marley’s clients have ranged in size from large listed companies to small private clients to charities across industry sectors including professional services, construction, financial services, media, government, health and beauty, automotive and technology.
Ms. Marley is also an ICAEW Counsellor responsible for providing guidance, particularly regarding ethics, to BRG’s ACA students as they complete their qualification.
