Caleb M. Sturm
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Caleb Sturm is a director in BRG’s Global Construction practice. He focuses on matters involving forensic schedule analyses and work disruption, studies in working productivity, quantum of monetary damages, claim formulation and review, and cost auditing. Mr. Sturm has performed forensic analyses on claims for delay and damages of up to $800 million and has years of experience providing written and verbal opinion testimony.
Mr. Sturm has a demonstrable track record assisting in the successful resolution of claims prior to litigation or arbitration proceedings. He collaborates with client personnel and performs analyses in the development of preliminary expert findings that are presented and relied upon during settlement conferences, formal mediations, meet-and-confer procedures, and informal negotiation discussions.
Mr. Sturm developed his industry experience and expertise as both a contractor and owner. He has worked for design firms, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, and owners. He has performed project management, contract administration, critical path method (CPM) scheduling, cost controls, change management, claim development, and risk mitigation for multiyear capital programs. Mr. Sturm’s construction experience includes projects within the United States, Latin America, and South America.
In addition to his expert work, Mr. Sturm consults with parties in the planning, programming, control, and management of project risk. His experience in prospective and forensic capacities allows him to uniquely anticipate risks and opportunities prior to and during each stage of the project lifecycle. Mr. Sturm has advanced experience in the implementation of standard procedures during the delivery of multiyear capital projects.
Mr. Sturm holds a master’s degree in construction management and bachelor’s degrees in economics and accounting. He has been recognized by industry organizations as a Planning & Scheduling Professional, Certified Cost Professional, and Certified Construction Auditor. Mr. Sturm is the Southeast Regional Director for the Society of Construction Law North America and an active member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering and the National Association of Construction Auditors.
