Brian Cashman has over 25 years of experience specializing in interim senior finance roles and advising distressed companies and their various stakeholders.

He has significant experience in interim and permanent financial positions, including CFO, controller, and vice president of Finance for a variety of corporations.

Mr. Cashman has served as:

  • Interim CFO for an $800 million women’s apparel company of a New York-based private equity firm
  • Interim CFO for a $90 million sporting goods company
  • Interim controller for a $5 billion chemical portfolio company of a Boston-based PE firm
  • Interim controller/CFO for a $600 million company following an acquisition by a NYC-based PE firm
  • Controller for a $500 million supply chain management portfolio company of a Boston-based PE firm
  • Vice president of Finance for a $150 million software company

Mr. Cashman is experienced in developing and implementing reporting, controls, and best practices within finance organizations with multi-site operations around the world, including financial analysis, management reporting, cash forecasting, audit preparation, and coordination in both distressed and non-distressed situations. He is an expert at analyzing and implementing strategic and operational change, including refinement of business plans and redeployment of capital to address changing industry conditions, and stabilizing and fixing non-core operations through plant, product, and customer rationalization initiatives. He has experience across a range of industries including retail, manufacturing, medical device, chemical, distribution, software, and supply chain management.

Mr. Cashman has developed both weekly and monthly detailed cash-flow models and store models to assist management in determining optimum store footprints; and has provided liquidity and capital structure assessment, debt and equity restructuring advice, and identification of reorganization alternatives.

Before joining BRG, Mr. Cashman was a senior managing director at the Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice of a global business advisory firm for ten years. Before that, he served in various financial management roles at retailers, software companies, and a supply chain management company and had five years of public accounting experience at a Big Four firm.
