Dr. Bartosz Korchowiec specialises in the economics of competition and has extensive experience in cartel damages, abuse of dominance, state aid and merger control. He also has strong expertise in econometrics, statistical analysis and understanding technological progress.
He applies this expertise to deliver sophisticated economic analyses across diverse sectors including automotive, digital, electronics, energy, telecoms and transport. Dr. Korchowiec has assessed follow-on cartel damages, pass-on, aid compatibility and the regulatory landscape in digital markets. His particular strength lies in leveraging advanced econometric and statistical tools in competition matters.
As a consultant, Dr. Korchowiec has advised clients and coordinated economic and financial workstreams in numerous high-profile cartel, abuse of dominance and state aid cases before the European Commission and national authorities in digital, energy and technology sectors. He has also supported clients in navigating new regulations proposed by the European Commission in digital markets.
Before joining BRG, Dr. Korchowiec was an economist at a global economics consulting firm. He earned his PhD in economic analysis from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Barcelona GSE, focusing on technological progress’s impact on individual reallocation decisions and social networks’ influence on labor market outcomes. Dr. Korchowiec is a native Polish speaker and proficient in Spanish.
