Athanasia Arapogianni Konisti
Athanasia Arapogianni Konisti, an associate director in BRG’s Energy & Climate practice, has more than thirteen years of international experience in the energy industry.
She focuses on conducting extensive research and analysis on various aspects of energy markets, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management, and energy commodities pricing for investment and commercial disputes, as well as strategic advisory.
Ms. Arapogianni Konisti has led projects and prepared expert evidence in international arbitrations procedures, under ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, and the Swedish Arbitration Act, concerning mainly disputes on gas pricing, application of force majeure clauses, evolution of energy and gas markets, regulatory reforms, quantification of damages, etc. She has supported experts and clients throughout dispute processes, from research, analysis, and expert reports to hearing procedures.
Ms. Arapogianni Konisti has provided strategic insight and analysis to leading law firms and international energy companies and other energy industry clients across geographies. She has led systemic and specific supply chain analyses of GHG emissions on various fuel supply routes. She coauthored an article on methane emissions of the natural gas sector, “Hydrocarbons supply-chain grapples with methane abatement,” published in Oil & Gas Journal (April 2022). She is a frequent speaker on energy transition and the strategic implications of GHG management.
In addition, Ms. Arapogianni Konisti has a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and specifically in wind energy. She worked for almost four years as a senior research officer at the European Wind Energy Association. She was exposed to a wide network of experts, actively contributing to discussions on the development of wind power in Europe under technical, regulatory, and financial perspectives.
