Dr. Arpita Patnaik is an associate director at BRG who specializes in applying econometric methods and economic modelling on matters related to antitrust and competition.
Dr. Patnaik has extensive experience spanning industries such as healthcare, Big Tech, agriculture, and consumer goods. She regularly manages large teams of economists and consultants, applies causal inference techniques to complex problems, and conducts analysis on big data.
Previously, Dr. Patnaik was an economist at a global economics consulting firm. She holds a PhD in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she specialized in applied microeconomics, applied econometrics, and the economics of education. Her research focused on studying higher education in the United States and determinants of college major choice.
Dr. Patnaik has authored academic peer-reviewed economics articles that have been published in the Journal of Econometrics and Economics of Education Review and has served as a referee for academic journals. She authored a chapter in the Routledge Handbook of Economics of Education. More recently, she has published in the Competition Policy International TechReg Chronicle.
