Andrew Manley has over thirty-five years of commercial real estate and financial advisory experience with an extensive background in investment management, capital markets, and restructuring matters.

Mr. Manley’s background includes both advisory and principal roles and approximately $15 billion in debt and equity transactions, venture and fund formations, asset and loan sales, and loan acquisitions. He has advised numerous institutions in strategic planning, business performance improvement and merger integration initiatives, work-out and restructuring matters, asset valuations, and chapter 11 bankruptcy issues.

Mr. Manley has served in interim management and receivership roles, as well as management positions directing operations, capital markets transactions, and asset liquidations. He has qualified as an expert and provided expert testimony in real estate matters involving bankruptcy, investment management, transactions and capital markets, and valuation issues.

Before joining BRG, Mr. Manley was a managing director with Shelter Rock Capital Advisors, a real estate private equity advisory firm specializing in institutional capital raising, including commingled funds, co-investments, recapitalizations, joint ventures, and separate managed accounts. He specialized in advising early stage and emerging investment managers and advised clients with both debt and equity investment strategies. He also led the firm’s direct equity placement efforts.

Mr. Manley also previously was a managing director and principal with Capstone Advisory Group and HighBridge Advisors. At both firms, he provided financial advisory services to companies in distress and specialized in the development and execution of work-out and restructuring strategies on behalf of creditors and debtors, capital formation, and asset liquidations. He also provided valuation and litigation support advisory services.

Mr. Manley previously held senior principal investment management and private equity roles with CBRE and South Charles Investment Corporation, a subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation. In both roles, he executed a range of high-yield real estate investments, including direct equity, participating mezzanine loans, whole loans, and note acquisitions. He also led the formation and management of investment joint ventures and commingled funds.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Manley was a consulting manager with the Ernst & Young/Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group, where he advised clients in transactions and capital markets matters, including transaction structuring, asset sales, the sale of performing and non-performing loan portfolios, and work-out and restructuring. He began his real estate career in 1986 in commercial real estate development with responsibilities that included office and retail leasing, asset management, and development project management.
