Aidan Coyne has over twenty years of experience managing civil engineering, building construction and oil and gas projects in Europe and the Middle East. Having worked at construction and project management levels with international contractors and consultancies, he has vast experience in residential, commercial, industrial, leisure and retail building projects from project initiation to management of final turnkey finishes and final handover.
Mr. Coyne has extensive experience in complex projects with demanding programmes and budgets. His experience includes construction, project and design management of substantial structural steel and concrete facilities on both client and contractor sides. He has worked in delay and programming dispute matters with delay experts in the UK and Middle East regions.
Mr. Coyne regularly provides independent expert witness opinion in formal and nonformal matters. He has given oral evidence under DIAC, LCIA and ADCCAC rules and has been ‘hot-tubbed’ at international arbitration hearings in relation to energy, desalination, water, oil and gas, shipping, building and infrastructure matters.
Mr. Coyne regularly provides technical and strategic project management advice including progress monitoring and risk analysis on live projects in relation to extensive civil and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installations.
Mr. Coyne also worked as a project manager for the Abu Dhabi government in the offshore oil and gas industry. He was based offshore in the Arabian Gulf on live oil platforms and island crude oil storage facilities, managing the design, coordination and installation of new infrastructure. His role involved the complex coordination of project design teams and stakeholders based in multiple countries worldwide.
Mr. Coyne has a master’s degree in construction law and project management from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.
