BRG announces the expansion of its Cyber Forensics and eDiscovery practice in Asia-Pacific (APAC) with the addition of Sohael Qayyum as an associate director based in Perth, Western Australia.
With over twenty-five years of experience both in a technical capacity and as an eDiscovery consultant, Mr. Qayyum has assisted clients in navigating all aspects of the eDiscovery cycle, including document collection and production, data analysis, legal project management and strategy consulting.
Mr. Qayyum’s arrival strengthens BRG’s presence in Perth and Sydney, extending the growth of the firm’s eDiscovery offering into the Western Australia market. His hire underscores BRG’s commitment to the critical energy and resources sector in Australia where, together with industry experts Phillip Solomon, Andrew Webb and Peter Bird, and working with business development lead Thomas Fearis, Mr. Qayyum will leverage big data analytics and artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive disputes and investigations services to clients.
Erick Gunawan, leader of BRG’s APAC Cyber Forensics and eDiscovery practice, commented: “Our integrated technology capabilities are growing rapidly in depth and breadth. With his established track record in Australia, Sohael will effectively serve as an additional touchpoint for BRG to strengthen our presence there and stay seamlessly connected to our clients”.
Before joining BRG, Mr. Qayyum was the head of consulting in Western Australia at one of the largest eDiscovery providers in Australia and the United Kingdom, in addition to holding senior roles in legal technology companies.
“Sohael’s joining follows the recent additions of Dennis Beling and Jay Gomez in Asia-Pacific”, said Mustafa Hadi, regional lead in APAC region. “These exciting appointments are testament to our continued investment in and dedication to the region, in which we are deeply rooted, and continues the growth we have enjoyed over the past ten years, thanks to the support of our valued clients”.
