BRG announces the expansion of its Cyber Forensics and eDiscovery practice in Asia-Pacific (APAC) with the hire of cybersecurity expert Jay Gomez as an associate director based in Hong Kong.

Mr. Gomez’s arrival allows BRG to further provide clients with comprehensive solutions to tackle the full spectrum of cyber challenges in the APAC region: from proactive information security strategy and consulting, cybersecurity compliance, data security and loss prevention, vulnerability and risk management; to cyber incident response, investigations, risk mitigation and post-crisis support.

“Jay’s joining marks a significant milestone for the evolution of our APAC Cyber Forensics and eDiscovery offering”, said Erick Gunawan, leader of the practice. “As we continue to expand our capabilities in the region, Jay will work closely with our on-the-ground teams in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Australia to help clients navigate changing cybersecurity regulatory landscapes and address their pressing needs”.

Mr. Gomez has almost 30 years of experience and is a certified cybersecurity, information security and data privacy leader. His diverse industry experience includes banking and finance, broadcast and communications, energy, education, manufacturing, technology, retail, professional services and telecommunications across APAC, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and North and Central America. Before joining BRG, he led the North Asia cyber risk practice at an Australian-headquartered global telecommunications company. He also served in a senior position at a cyber risk consulting firm in Hong Kong; and as assistant vice president, head of information security and data protection officer at a large conglomerate based in the Philippines.

Mustafa Hadi, BRG’s APAC regional lead, commented, “We are delighted to have Jay onboard in our fast-growing team. His deep experience enhances our economics, disputes and investigations capabilities and provides clients with seamless access to cybersecurity consulting services in the region”.
