BRG has placed second worldwide in Global Arbitration Review’s (GAR) Expert Witness Power Index for 2023, the firm’s highest-ever position in the ranking tables. The practice’s recent development is charted by increases across all of the survey’s key metrics over the last two years:
- Total value of claims gone to hearing, up from US$11.6 billion (11th) to US$37.5 billion (2nd)
- Average value of claims gone to hearing, up from US$500 million (11th) to US$568 million (5th)
- Total number of hearings, up from 33 (11th) to 74 (4th)
- Total number of hearings, disaggregated (i.e., counting multiple experts testifying separately in a single hearing), up from 33 (12th) to 95 (3rd)
- Who’s Who Legal listings, up from 15 to 16
“Since joining BRG in 2018, and working closely with leading experts across the firm, we have built a world-class international arbitration practice that has gone from strength to strength. I’m proud that this recognition reflects both the growth we have achieved and our status as one of the world’s foremost arbitration practices. I’d like to thank both my colleagues for their significant contributions and our clients for their continued trust in our expertise,” said Santiago Dellepiane, head of the firm’s International Arbitration group.
The survey’s “reputational clout” metric—or “perceived quality of personnel,” proxied by the peer-review research conducted by Who’s Who Legal Arbitration—highlights BRG’s most heavyweight practitioners. Global Elite Thought Leaders Daniela Bambaci, Richard Boulton KC, Santiago Dellepiane, and Mustafa Hadi are ranked alongside Jas Cheema, Christopher Goncalves, Greg Harman, Michael Kenyon, Anastasia Malyugina, David Rogers, Daniel Ryan, Nikola Stambolić, David Teece, and Brad Wolf.
