Laurent Eymard and Adina Claici took part in panels during the 5th Annual European Forum on Global FDI Reviews on June 11.
Mr. Eymard joined the panel “Merger Control & FDI Transactions Outlook” to discuss the expansion of antitrust agencies’ jurisdiction to cover more transactions. The number of filing obligations is increasing, and the reviews themselves are becoming more challenging. New regimes such as the European Union’s Foreign Subsidy Regime (FSR) and other potential reforms such as outbound investment screening are set to create even more complexities.
Dr. Claici spoke on the panel “A Year in Review: The Impact of Foreign Subsidies Regulation – Practitioners Share Their Experiences with New Investigation and Enforcement Tools.” Panelists covered the FSR as an enforcement tool to intervene in transactions that distort the competition market, as well as how effective this regime has been.
