BRG was a proud sponsor of the American Bar Association (ABA) 2024 Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee CLE Seminar, hosted by the ABA Litigation Section.

On March 7, Gregory S. Thaler joined a panel on “Nine Figure Property & Business Interruption Claims” with Jason Diener (EPIC Insurance Brokers), Gretchen Hoff Varner (Covington & Burling LLP), and Ronald L. Kammer (Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP). Mary Craig Calkins (BlankRome LLP) moderated the panel, which showcased effective legal strategies and forensic accounting methodologies for large and often contentious property and business interruption (BI) claims.

On March 8, Stephen Moseley presented at the roundtable “Complex Business Interruption Claims: Legal and Accounting Issues and Solutions” with Pamela D. Hans (Anderson Kill PC). They covered best practices for addressing issues including case law and accounting methods, natural disasters, one-off losses, extended periods of indemnity, ordinary payroll and contingent time-element issues, deductibles, partial versus total losses, and how to use historical trends.
